Grapes contain nutrients that are good for body. Every grape variety has its own nutrition, but in general the nutritional content of grape is made up of 70 percent water and 20 percent glucose, which makes the grapes very good for the body's metabolism and also 10 percent of other substances including Gallic acid, glycosides, phosphoric acid, iron, vitamins and calcium.

Grape also contained other compounds such as polyphenols and resveratrol substances which also known as antioxidants. Grape antioxidants counteract free radicals that enter the body, to prevent the formation of cancer causing cells.

A number of other vitamins are also found such as, 22 mcg of vitamin K (about 28% of the requirement of the daily diet), 0.4 mg of thiamine (27 percent of daily requirement), vitamin E vitamin A, pantothenic acid, vitamin B-6, folic, beta carotene, alpha carotene. Vitamin helps the body process function runs properly and will reduce the risk of certain health problems.

Rich of Minerals

Other benefits of grapes are it rich in important minerals. Each serving of red grapes provides minerals such as 288 mg potassium (which is also found in bananas), 0.2 mg of copper, 0.1 mg of manganese and 0.5 irons. Red grapes also contain some small amount of other mineral like calcium, magnesium, zinc and selenium.

Cognitive Benefits

The grapes that consumed as grape juice, provides benefits in optimizing cognitive powers. In a study of Concord on the consumption of grape juice daily for 1-2 weeks for several months, showed an increment for the research participants in the California Verbal Learning Test.
